Well, Wednesday's CPI made the market think MAYBE the fed's wouldn't
raise interest rates - So the market went up.
Today, Dr. G speaks and says rates WILL go up - So the market went up.
Wait, I think I understand it now.... NOPE.
Just ANOTHER good reason to trade when the market says to trade. Our hit rate is in
excess of 80% winners because we listen to the market and trade when our signals say to trade.
Two more things:1) Don't forget your 
Bagels in the morning.
2) 
Little Toad is coming home this weekend!

San Antonio for years and Little Toad (another great Spurs fan!) grew up there.

Dr. G will be
speaking. Naaaaahhh, we will wait to trade...

Toad Update 6/16/99 #2 15:10 EMAIL and ICQ
The market from 2:45 to 3:00 was a head twister. We slammed down
followed by a jump UP - had a couple of "sucker plays" available again
today.
The calls and the puts we were considering have moved around 1/4 to 1/2
from where we considered our entry. Yawn....
Too much risk with no great signals and a market that is actually in a
trading range since the pop up this morning,
Keeping our feet dry.

Good morning, someone already called today a "Relief rally" - the CPI was flat and
indicates last month's number wasn't a good indicator of inflation. Makes sense,
how long will the rally last?
Just another reason we should hold over - NOT!

There were two sucker plays today that remind us of giggin frogs (not
toads). Glad we weren't in the pond during the frog hunt.

Yep, not trading on a day like today. Look at the charts, only opportunity was the run up between 10:30
and 10:55 - and we didn't have signals to get in - Tick went as high as 0 (zero) on the run up.
Hope this isn't an indication of how our week is going to go... Is this OEW? (Options Expiration Week) - UGH!

6/11/99 Evening
We are UP $4,775 THIS WEEK and 163 % this year!
We heard from a lot of our Toadsters today and they did
REALLY well. We hopped into the June 660 puts at 9 1/2 and after we entered,
they dropped to 9. We sweated it out for 90 minutes and decided we didn't want
to miss this one and hold over the weekend (we hate that) - watched it get close to and
never hit our sell prices - so we lowered it to the HIGH of the day. It sold and the
market started tanking. I think we cause that!
Well, it hit 12 1/2 shortly
after we hopped out! Have some Toadsters who got in after us at 9 and out
after us at 11 1/2 and 12.
We are happy for them and it doesn't bother us...

Had changed the sell three times and didn't know if we could get our $2,

Good morning. The pond is full, we had some much needed rain yesterday.
It's Friday and the bagels are great. Globex is up. Life is goood!

Forget to mention: We had thunderstorms here at the pond this afternoon and our computer
crashed/locked up twice today.
If you sent us an email after 11:30 this
morning (EDT) and we haven't responded, please resend. We found out we missed some emails in the
afternoon, so your email may be in the large email graveyard at Netscape (or is it at Microsoft?)

Well, the OEYRN we sold did hit 17 3/4 today, but we didn't want to worry
any longer than we did - we were in the market for
2 hours and 5 minutes,
and you know we get nervous when we are in the "pond".
Tomorrow is FRIDAY, and you know what that means:

I'm out of the June 670 Puts (OEYRN) at 15 3/4.
Computer crashed (for the second time today) when I was trying to send
this the first time. Looks like they hit 16 1/4 - AFTER I sold.
I had my sell point set at 17 1/2 MOST OF TODAY, and it never hit, I was
the ASK numerous times. I'll settle for what we made on this one and be
happy to be FLAT.

Glad the Delta information made sense to so many of you.
That's just another way I have looked at the market and options, and it
seems to make sense to me. But, after all, I'm just a
small green Toad.

playing with my new sailing watch...

OK, we are ready! My favorite sailing watch 
was destroyed in our automobile accident last year and I finally replaced it tonight. It's not real fancy, just has good countdown timer, etc. I'm ready now!
We could talk about the market but ...summer doldrums? ...waiting for the interest rate change? ...everyone at the beach? ...too hot in New York? ...anyone??

CNBC just said this was one of the lowest volume days of this year. We could tell.
Whew, don't like days like today - STUCK in a trading range.

So far today, hopping into anything would have been a mistake.
Low volume overall and the OEX has been in a narrow trading range.
Lunch-time crowd not too excited either. Yawn, I'm here by the pond,
looking for a hop.

Another low volume day - we have been tracking the 670, 675, 680 Calls
and the 660, 665, 670 Puts. Probably would be a 670 SOMETHING we would hop into if we were to hop soon.
MSFT, INTC, MRK, IBM and CSCO are holding up the OEX.
Don't like much of what we see yet today - but it's a nice day by the
pond.

Looks like we hopped out a bit early today. The OEYRN June 670 puts hit a high of 11 1/2 today. Urp.
We just didn't trust the low volume and weird market to stay in past our buck. Don't complain when you make a buck!
Had a few Toadsters who told us they got in at 7 3/4 and out at 9 and some hopped out at 10 1/2 - not bad!

STAY OUT of the June 670 calls (OEYFN) .... They are down from where we were considering them.

Had a couple of Toadster sidebars going this morning.
About the June 660 calls, too many things said NO as the market was
slowly moving up. So we didn't hop - right now we are still glad we
didn't.
ALSO, FORGOT TO MENTION THE BAGELS TODAY. Well, we had cinnamon and
raisin or maybe cinnamon and fly - not really sure, but they were
delicious.
Still FLAT with a full stomach. Urp.

Just for kicks we just chased the the June 660 Calls (OEYFL) at 12 3/4
and a little at 13 - tried for 5 contracts, but they are up to 13 1/2 X
13 7/8 now.
This is a weird play - we looked not necessarily because of the
fundamentals, but because of the trend we think we see...... Would
expect to hop out with less than our normal $2.
Will let you know if/when we hop.

Just like this market, the long awaited numbers come out and the market
still can't figure out which way to go. THEN someone said: "We have six other
reports coming out before the next FED meeting on 6/28 and 6/29."

Not going to get caught up in any late day volatility. This is
definitely a day when we want to be FLAT overnight.
Earnings report coming out at 8:30; wonder if traders will hang around

Sitting by the pond looking for good hopping opportunities - despite
the predictions of a pop on open and then a slow day.

Nervous, skittish, whiplash - these are some of the words used to describe
the market today. Add in low volume and Dr G speaking in the middle
of the day, and this was not a day for daytrading.
We're looking for a better day soon unless, of course, everyone decides
to wait for the employment numbers on Friday.

After a volatile week, the low volume today kept us FLAT (sitting and staring).
So, we are UP $4,225 this week
and everyone is OFF on Monday.

Well, we saw the noon-time crowd come through and they pushed it up even
more.
BUT, as CNBC just said: "With volume this light, it's easy to move the
market fast today." So, which way is it gonna move??

Well, at least three Toadsters are paying attention and haven't left for
the beach yet. When we mentioned the OEYFL - we mistakenly called it
a 650 call and it's a 660 call. It is still the one we woulda hopped
into - the 660 calls.
By the way, they hit a high of 14 today. hmmmmmm.....
It's still a funny market today.

Market volume is WAY down and the OEX is UP. Small volume today can
turn against us very quickly. This is a dangerous trading day. We are
still watching and if we hop it looks like the OEYFL right now. (June
650 calls)
BUT, we don't trust it - looked out the window and the pond is FLAT and
glassy with the birds just sitting and staring at the water. Just like
us.
We will keep watching (staring.)

Market is expected to be "snoozeville" today but we're here by the pond,
watching with our bagels and coffee.

Expectations are that trading will be light tomorrow in anticipation
of the long holiday weekend. We'll keep an eye on the market at least
through the early afternoon because you can never believe everything you
read in the papers!

OK folks. A lot of Toadsters got out with a profit already. Heard from some who got in at 15 3/4 and out at 17 3/4 - great.
The Toad, on the other hand, raised the sell to get $3 - had it at 18
1/4 and they hit 17 7/8 and didn't see it go any higher. Lowered sell
to 18 and well, we are still in. I'll take a buck, or whatever.....

After the morning turbulence (CNBC's word), it was a sideways market
and could have gone either way at 3:00. Today we knew it was definitely
going to be a June 655 something . . er . . . ah . . . ribbit!

Bummer, this wound up being a definite downward day - a PUT day.
We were concerned that it was a sucker day...
We considered a put
right up until the lunchtime crowd hit. Then the market went sideways
until 3:00 when it dropped way too fast for us to hop. Woulda needed Toad
NIKEs to make that 3:00 hop.
